Skanking It Easy at Auditorium Shores

That’s right, the 2008 version of the Austin Reggae Festival kicks off this weekend. Caribbean beats, Jamaican flags and dreadlocks will descend on Auditorium Shores Saturday and Sunday from noon until 10pm.

Chuck Prophet brought his band to our studio at the end of the second to last day of SXSW. Just as the sleep and sunlight deprived (we work in a basement) KUT staff was beginning to unravel.

That level head will probably serve him well as he tours the Old World for the next month. Watch this rendition of “Small Town Girl”. Chuck’s wife Stephanie provides the beautiful background vocals.
